A reciever that can track longitude and latitude coordinates using global positioning satellites is a powerful tool for genealogical research. A GPS receiver is now a constant companion when I hunt for old family homesteads, cemeteries, and other sites of local history or interest. Of course now I need to return to the many locations I visited before GPS became commonly available so I can add them to my list.

The first column links to the biography page for the individual listed, the second column describes the nature of the waypoint, the third column indicates the years when the waypoint had meaning either to the individual or to the family, the fourth column lists the closest town, and the fifth column plots the waypoint on google maps.
