- April 1, 1897: Purchased an interest in the Plainview Bank along with his brother Edwin and returned to Plainview from Milaca, MN. (page 13)
- 1925: He was a cashier with the Plainview State Bank when it closed, however it does not appear that he played a significant role in its collapse. (pages 147 - 222).
- August 17, 1925: He passed away suddenly of heart failure while writing at his typewriter. His health "failed rapidly" after the closing of the Plainview State Bank. (page 156)
- August 19, 1925: "Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon... Interment was made in the Woodland Cemetery." (page 156)

(13) The History of Wabasha County [MN], 1920. Biography of George Franklin SYLVESTER.

"George Franklin SYLVESTER, a prominent business man of Plainview, cashier of the Plainview State Bank, was born in Plainview Township, Wabasha County, July 20, 1862, son of George W. SYLVESTER. After acquiring his education in the Plainview public schools, he went to Madison, Wis., where he learned telegraphy. From 1882 to 1886, he was employed as telegraph operator at various places for the Great Northern Railroad. On June 6, 1886, he became station agent at Milaca on the Fergus Falls Division of the Great Northern, and was thus employed until March 17, 1897. In that year he became associated with his brother in the Plainview Bank, becoming cashier, a position which he still retains. On July 1, 1906, the bank was organized as the Plainview State Bank, and as such is conducting a safe, conservative and profitable business, Mr. SYLVESTER's ability and personality being among it's assets. Mr. SYLVESTER is also interested in other important enterprises, among which are valuable farm holdings, and his position as representative for the New York Life Insurance Company. He was one of the organizers of the Wabasha County Fair Association, of which he was secretary for fourteen years and is now an honorary member. He is a member and trustee of the First Congregational Church at Plainview, and for twenty years has been a member and secretary of the Board of Education of Plainview, and as such is still serving."

(15) George W. SYLVESTER family reunion. Plainview, MN (August 16-18, 2002).

- "Frank" SYLVESTER's home was located on the south side of W. Broadway between 7th and 9th Sts. At the time of the reunion it was a vacant lot across from the elementary school in the general vicinity of the large tree. The school is located at latitude / longitude; N44°09.904' / W92°10.531'
- The site of the Plainview State Bank has been extensively remodeled but the original bank vault is still in use. The building is located on the northwest corner of W. Broadway and 3rd St (latitude / longitude; N44°09.910' / W92°10.214').
- George Franklin SYLVESTER is buried at the Woodland Cemetery. The cemetery is located on the south side of Road 25 at the "T" intersection with Road T238 (within eyesight of the township maintenance building) in a rural area of Plainview Township (latitude/longitude; N44°07.698' / W92°06.559'). There are two grave markers for him. The vertical headstone reads "FRANK" and the surface marker reads "George F. / 1862 - 1925."
