I have visited Pizza Port,
at their Ocean Beach location in San Diego, California, USA.

Brewery/Brewpub Location Map

Reason for Visit: I was in town for a conference. This was a convenient place to meet some family members who live in the San Diego area.

Pizza Port in San Diego Signage: I'd wanted to get to Pizza Port for awhile but I've generally not had a rental car when I've been to San Diego on business. The Ocean Beach location had opened since my last visit and it's closer to downtown than the other locations. Fortunately I was able to persuade the people I was meeting for dinner that evening to drive us over to Ocean Beach. We knew we'd arrived when we saw the frothy pint glass in the signage attached to their building.
Pizza Port in Ocean Beach Exterior: It's a great location, just a couple of blocks off the beach. Big glass windows allow one to see the tanks from outside the storefront, as if beckoning people to come inside to try some locally-made beverages with a nationwide reputation. A grain silo off the back of the building provides a similar function, located by their small parking lot. The lot was already filled by the time we arrived but we found street parking without too much difficulty.
Pizza Port Tanks Restaurant: Pizza Port provides an interesting dining experience. There isn't any table service per se, rather patrons walk up to a counter to order their beer and pizza. There's a dedicated counter for people who simply want a beverage though, so you don't have to wait in a long line if you're simply thirsty. All of the tables are communal; long rows of wooden picnic tables lined up against each other, end-to-end. It's easy to make friends with the strangers sitting next you, with the abundance of pizza and beer making the rounds.
