Status: apparently closed

Reason for Visit: We were visiting some friends in South Florida and made sure to sample some brewpubs along the way. The Clevelander Brewing Company was located in the beautiful Art Deco Clevelander Hotel, deep in the heart of Miami Beach's famous South Beach. When I was there the brewpub seemed a little out of place with all the other activity going on around it in South Beach. While I was happy to get some microbrewed beverages it didn't seem that many others in the vicinity gave it much thought, even the other patrons of the Clevelander's outdoor, beachfront restaurant.

Glassware:Clevelander Brewing Company Pint Glass. I wasn't dreaming, there really was a brewpub at the Clevelander Hotel. I'm pretty sure this glass was a promotional special -- if you bought one of the beers then the glass came along with it. This is a multi-color design printed on clear glass in an oval configuration. The central image is the Clevelandar Hotel in yellow pastel Art Deco splendor, and the notation immediately below it notes that it was established in 1986 (the brewpub, I assume). The name of the brewery arcs across the top borders, and its further identified as the maker of "Tuff Guy Ales."
