I have visited Jasper Murdock's Ale House,
in Norwich, Windsor County, Vermont, USA.

Brewery/Brewpub Location Map

Reason for Visit: We drove up to Vermont and New Hampshire on a long weekend while the autumn leaves were changing colors. We were able to squeeze in visits to several brewpubs and microbreweries along the way. Jasper Murdock's Ale House at the Norwich Inn is not difficult to find, just a couple of minutes from Interstate 91 along Main Street in Norwich.

Norwich Inn in Vermont Outside of the Brewpub: Unlike most brewpubs, Jasper Murdock's Ale House isn't the star of the show, rather it's just one part of the historic Norwich Inn. An inn has stood here since the late Eighteenth Century and the current structure since 1890. In fact, one wouldn't ordinarily know that a brewpub exists here except for the very small "brewery" sign attached to the bottom of the larger sign for the inn.
Brewery Taps The Ale House Pub: Jasper Murdock beers are sold in the dining room and in a smaller bar that's designed to appear as an English pub. We elected for lunch in the pub room as accompanied by a beer sampler. While the Inn is quite old the brewery is rather recent historically speaking, first becoming available in 1993. Ales are produced in a modest four-barrel brewhouse located elsewhere on the property which is why I don't have the usual array of photographs of brewing equipment.
Norwich Inn Coaster Coaster (front): I collected a coaster while at Jasper Murdock's Ale House. The front of the coaster features the Norwich Inn logo, the same as found outside the front entrance of the Inn. It features the name of the establishment as well as the year of its founding. A horse and carriage with drivers gallops across the landscape like one would expect in Colonial times.
Jasper Murdock's Coaster Coaster (back): The same theme carries on to the back of the coaster, with an identical carriage. The primary difference is that it focuses on Jasper Murdock's Ale House specifically, and its hand-crafted ale, porter and stout.
Two Patrick Stout Bottle: While primarily a brewpub, Jasper Murdock's does some limited bottling for sale only at the Norwich Inn. We picked up a couple of bottles of their Two Patrick Stout for consumption later on our journey. Too bad it can't be found anywhere outside of Norwich!
