"George FUNK, 516 North Washington street, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George WEIHERT, Monday afternoon. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Mrs. Weihert's home. Interment was at North Road cemetery. Mr. FUNK was born in Darmstadt, Germany, on January 11, 1824. Aftern being married a short time he and his wife came to this country and settled in Albany, New York, where he started in business as a barber. In 1861 he came to the town of Emmet where he and his family lived on a farm. He stayed there until his retirement twenty-three years ago. Twelve children survive his death. They are Jacob, William and Herman of Milwaukee; Louis of this city; Henry of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Fred HEIN, Lake Mills; Mrs. George SCHNEIDER of Madison; Mrs. William HEROLD of this city; Mrs. George MARKHAM of Neillsville; Mrs. Sol DAVIS of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Mrs. Gustave SOVIG of Milwaukee, and Mrs. George WEIHERT of this city."
