- Contains a newspaper clipping of unknown origin/date: "The Misses Laura and Ella Lehmann and Messrs. George H. Weihert and Herman E. Freitag were the principals in a double wedding which took place last evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lehmann, in route 6. Just before 7 o'clock the wedding party marched down the stairway in to a beautifully decorated room on the lower floor to the strains of the wedding march, the Misses Gertrude Zabel and Esther Willitz acting as flower girls and strewing flowers in the path of the brides. The bridesmaids and groomsmen numbered six and were the Misses Elsie H. Saniter, Norma Freitag and Minnie Zabel, and Messrs. A. W. Weihert, Bennie Lehmann and Martin Zabel. The ceremony, which was performed in the presence of almost 200 guests, was most impressive. The Rev. T. H. Kant of Mamre read the service in German and the Rev. N. Carter Daniell performed the English service. Following the service, a most bountiful supper was served, the 200 guests sitting down at the big tables in relays until all were served, during and after which the guests were entertained with vocal and instrumental music. Mr. George H. Weihert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Weihert, route 9, and Mr. Herman E. Freitag is the son of Mrs. Herman Freitag, route 6. Mr. Weihert and his bride left for Milwaukee today for a few days honeymoon and the couple will be at home after November 1 in route 1. Mr. and Mrs. Freitag will reside on the home place west of the city."
