"Pioneer Panola Resident Dies. CARTHAGE -- Mrs. Helen Jane NELSON, 80, was found dead at her home Saturday. She was a native of Panola County, born here on Nov. 3, 1869. She was the widow of the late County Judge Henry NELSON. Mrs. NELSON was a Methodist, and has one surviving son, Judge Russell NELSON of this city. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Hawthorne Funeral Chapel. Rev. A. C. BELL, Jr., pastor of the First Methodist Church will conduct the rites. Burial will be in Carthage Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles POOLE, Pete ROSS, Reed FORSYTH, Ben LACY, Aubrey RICH and Cullen THOMAS."

Helon HULL gave the following deposition at Carthage, TX on June 26, 1912: "My maiden name was HULL. Thomas P. HULL a Mexican War pensioner was my father. Father died in Beeville Texas at the home of my sister Mrs. J. H. McGAUGHEY some time in Sept. 1911. I saw my father's body after death. I suppose my sister Mrs. McGAUGHEY has all my father's personal papers. Father made this place [Carthage, Texas] his home up to last July when he went to Beeville."
