He was apparently listed as "Jacob Frank" in the 1880 Census. Later
census records (namely the 1900 census) state that his mother had given
birth to 8 children, and that all were living. Therefore, this record
has to be Ira.

(7) Letter written by Frank J. Howder, Esq., of Buffalo, NY to Clarence
O. Lewis (Niagara Co. historian) of Lockport, NY, on March 12, 1954. The
purpose of the letter was to outline Howder genealogy.
Bachelor. Ran the Howder farm along with Burt and Mary Ann. He
continued to run the farm after Burt's death, and was the last in the
family to continue to work the farm, until he too passed away on January
6, 1945.
