GARDNER of Farmington, Ontario County, NY for $85 one undivided tenth part of about 52 acres in lot 89 and about 38 acres in the southeast part of lot 104 in Farmington, their share by heirship from Nathan WESCOAT, deceased [Ontario County Deed Records, Book 59, p. 280]."

A second household on the property contains Mary's daughter Laura CAMPBELL, her son John HOWDER & wife Electa [PRIEST] HOWDER and her grandson George HOWDER. A third household on the property contains Mary's son Sylvester R. HOWDER, her daughter Clarissa HOWDER, her granddaughter Mary CAMPBELL (daughter of Laura CAMPBELL) and Frederick HAWLEY, an unrelated farm laborer.

- Mary is listed as a widow and a co-owner along with her daughters, Clarissa HOWDER and Laura CAMPBELL. - Most of the extended HOWDER family no longer resides on the farm. Clarissa and Laura are still there along with Laura's daughter, Mary. A tenant family has taken much of the space; Mary GRIFFIS, a widow from Canada, and her eight children reside there and continue to farm.
