Reason for Visit: I used to travel to Chicago fairly regularly on business and would try to visit breweries and brewpubs while I was in the area. Glen Ellyn is in DuPage Co., a western suburb of Chicago At the time I was staying in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, so a trip to Glen Ellyn was actually pretty convenient. Note: Sometime after my visit it apparently changed its name to Glen Ellyn Sports Brew before closing.

Glassware: The Glen Ellyn Brewing Co. pint glass features a beige and green design printed on clear glass. The central image is a Midwestern town square complete with a town hall and/or fire station complete with clock tower. Other buildings line the square as well. The image is drawn from the point of view of someone sitting at an outdoor restaurant table looking towards the square, with a mug of beer with overflowing foam sitting on a table directly in front of them. The left and right borders are created by large barley stalks. Top and bottom borders are formed by the name of the brewery. In very small script along the top it reads, " Premium Quality Beer - Brewed Daily on Premises." |
