It seems I’ve done a lot of traveling as I look back across the last several months. I travel fairly frequently anyway for work and for pleasure, but this has been a particularly busy period. Here’s a recap of places I’ve visited since the Spring, as told through previous Twelve Mile Circle dispatches. If you’ve recently started reading Twelve Mile Circle or if you’ve missed a few entries, maybe this will help you discover some posts you might not have seen before.
A Brief List
- I documented the eastern terminus of The Transpeninsular Line that marks the southern border between Delaware and Maryland.
- I then spent time in New Orleans, Louisiana and nearby Southern Mississippi where I rode on Lake Pontchartrain Bridges. Upon my return I found electronic evidence of my journeys in Tracking my Travels.
- In Orange County, California I used Automatic Geolocation on a BlackBerry to find my way around, and shared My Favorite Travel Tip .
- As the summer began and as rivers in the Upper Midwest swelled, I witnessed Wisconsin Floods and noticed that Lake Delton [was] Gone. Later I stopped by The Point of Beginning, the basis for all land surveys in the state.
- In July I had the unfortunate timing of being in Phoenix, an otherwise lovely location but perhaps not so during the Arizona Monsoon. On top of it, this was The Hottest I’ve Ever Been in my Life.
- Along West Virginia’s eastern panhandle I learned about the The First Steamboat?, then crossed into adjoining Maryland territory to walk among Antietam Topography of this famous battlefield.
- On to Dallas, Texas, I stopped by the The Grassy Knoll, the source of so many Kennedy Assassination conspiracy theories.
- And I’ve now just returned from Charleston, South Carolina where I provided readers with a Charleston Preview.
I’m sure I have more traveling on the horizon, so I look forward to further dispatches from the road.
