Along A Canal In Amsterdam

The Netherlands (September 1998)

Amsterdam Canal in 1998. My own photo.
One of Amsterdam’s Many Scenic Canals

My wife and I rode a train from Brussels to Amsterdam for a day-trip. Obviously a single day is not enough time to do the city any justice. Even so, it was long enough to get a flavor. We walked through many of the neighborhoods and across and along the picturesque canals. We spent much of our time examining the galleries of the Rijksmuseum. There we could appreciate many paintings we’d previously seen only in art books. I took the photograph above just around the corner from the Anne Frank house as we started trekking back to Centraal Station for the ride back to Brussels (map).
