The House on the Rock

Spring Green, Wisconsin, USA (August 12, 2002)

House on the Rock Object
This doesn’t even begin to show the uniqueness of The House on the Rock

I am not even sure how to describe The House on the Rock near Spring Green, Wisconsin (map). Is it a house? Or is it a museum? Maybe it’s a cluttered attic on steroids? Did some ancient flea market suffer a devastating explosion and leave its detritus in southwestern Wisconsin? Whatever it may be, it’s totally overwhelming and can’t possibly be appreciated in a single visit. It’s strange, twisted, and wonderful. I shake my head every time I think about it. The House on the Rock defines “Only in America.”
