News was received here Friday of the death of Dr. John Claude HULL, 37, formerly of San Antonio. He was fatally shot through the head in Port Arthur. Dr. HULL was in the hotel room of Dr. E. P. SHAW. Dr. SHAW said the shooting took place as he was talking over the telephone with his back toward the physician. Upon hearing the shot, Dr. SHAW turned to see his friend falling near the doorway, he said. Dr. R. L. COON, a cousin of the dead man, said Dr. HULL had been despondent for some time because of ill health and the ill health of a brother, Dr. A. H. HULL of San Antonio. HULL is survived by his widow and a son, William Oliver HULL, both of Port Arthur, and two brothers, Dr. A. H. HULL and T. HULL, both of San Antonio."

"Dr. J. C. HULL. BEEVILLE (Sp) -- Funeral services for Dr. J. C. HULL, 37, former San Antonio physician, who was found shot to death at Port Arthur Thursday, will be held here Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. J. D. ARMSTEAD of Center Point and the Rev. W. B. BILLINGSLEY, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Beeville, will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery here. Dr. HULL was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. J. C. HULL, who operated a drug store here. He received his early education in the Beeville schools. He had been practicing in San Antonio until three months ago, when he moved to Port Arthur. He was found shot to death in the room of a friend and a pistol was found beside his body. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith HULL, a son, William Oliver HULL, and two brothers, Thomas and Austin A. HULL, both of San Antonio."
