- October 16: "The Julia [SYLVESTER] Lambert I mentioned in my letter [of October 1, 1940] was the daughter of Charles and Mary [ROBBINS] SYLVESTER. Her brother, Bowman, lived in the West and often came to Phillips to visit his sister. I remember Mrs. SYLVESTER well -- she was a lovely woman. Her husband, [Isaac] Tyler LAMBERT, was a druggist and tailor, accumulated considerable property and died at middle age."
