"Carl W. CUMMINS. A young St. Paul attorney, with a growing sphere of activity and success in the law, Carl W. CUMMINS is a junior member of the well known firm of Morphy, Bradford and Cummins, with offices in the Capital Bank Building, St. Paul. Carl W. CUMMINS was born at Putney, South Dakota, September 28, 1884, and is the oldest son of C. E. and Lettie M. (BELMAN) CUMMINS. His parents, natives of Michigan, were among the pioneers of South Dakota, where his father located land and improved a farm, and after enduring the hardships of pioneer life reaped the rewards of his enterprise and has long been one of the prosperous citizens of that state. He is now retired from the farm and lives in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Carl W. CUMMINS grew up in South Dakota, was educated in the public schools, and after leaving High School entered the Norman State Normal and and Industrial School at Aberdeen, South Dakota, and for several years taught school and alternately studied and worked for his self-support. He has pursued special courses of study at the University of Minnesota. Mr. CUMMINS graduated from the St. Paul College of Law with the class of 1910. Admitted to the bar, in that year he took up the practice of his profession at St. Paul and since August 1, 1914, has been a member of the firm above mentioned. Mr. CUMMINS was married September 5, 1911, to Miss Celia M. FITZPATRICK, the only daughter of Charles M. FITZPATRICK of Waterloo, Iowa. While a republican, Mr. CUMMINS has been devoted to his profession and been interested in politics only in behalf of his friends. His success in the law has been due to a rigid concentration of effort upon his work, and among active members of the bar he is one of the hardest students in St. Paul. Mr. CUMMINS has membership in the St. Paul Athletic Club, and affiliates with the Masonic order and other fraternities."
