HOSFORD, 56, a former well known Dubuquer. Mr. HOSFORD was a son of the late Capt. and Mrs. A. W. HOSFORD, pioneer residents of Dubuque. He was born here, resided here until some years ago. During the Spanish American War he enlisted in the army from Dubuque and served as a 1st lieutenant in Comp. H of the 15th Iowa Volunteers. He is survived by 1 son, Harold, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Amanda SLOCUM and Miss Ida HOSFORD, all living at Long Beach. (Note there is no mention of his daughter, Mildred Louise HOSFORD-CLARK CASEY, with whom he had little or no contact after the death of wife Emma. He is not mentioned in her obit either and Mildred later went by her mother's surname 'CLARK.')"
