"Henry RECKNER dies; Funeral on Tuesday. Henry RECKNER, 82, a well known resident of this community, died at his home at 805 Dodge street Saturday noon. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. He was born on August 2, 1858, in the town of Shields, the son of the late Fred RECKNER and Mary WILLENBOGEE. He was married to Flora ZEIDLER on April 4, 1893, in Columbus. The couple celebrated their golden wedding on April 4, 1943. Mr. RECKNER engaged in farming in this locality. He retired in 1921 and moved to Watertown where he continued to reside. Surviving are his wife; one adopted daughter, Mrs. James THEDE of New Holstein; two grandchildren, Lloyd RECKNER of this city and Mrs. Raymond VICK of route 1; two great-grandchildren; Steve RECKNER and Rachel VICK; and one sister, Mrs. Mary WINKELMANN, Whitewater. One son, Oscar, preceded him in death in 1936. Also preceding him in death were three brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church, of which he served as councilman from 1924 to 1946. He was an honorary member of the Immanuel Brotherhood. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Immanuel Lutheran church, with the Rev. O.H. WONN, officiating. Friends may call to pay their respects at the Nowack Funeral home from 3 o’clock this afternoon until 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, at which time the body will be taken to the church, where it will lie in state from 12 to 2 o’clock, when the casket will be closed. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery."
