Includes a newspaper clipping of unknown source and date: "Herman KANT, Sr. OAK GROVE, Wis., Dec. 29. -- Mr. Herman KANT, Sr., prominent citizen and a well know farmer died at his home in the village of Oak Grove, Dec. 24, 1914, after a lingering illness of several months, at the age of 62 years. Mr. Herman KANT was born in Germany and came to American when a very young man, settled at a farm at Theresa, Wis., and later came with his wife and family to Oak Grove and followed the occupation of farming. About two years ago he sold his farm near here and moved into the village where he has since resided. He was a man who had many friends and no enemies, was loved and respected by all, a good neighbor, a kind husband and lovable father. Surviving are his widow and four children and one adopted daughter and one brother. Mr. KANT was an active member of the Lutheran church here. The funeral was held from his late residence and the Oak Grove Lutheran church last Sunday afternoon, the Rev. W. K. PIFER conducting the services. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery. We can truthfully say, by his death, the community has lost a most worthy and respected citizen who will be missed by every man, woman and child of his acquaintance."
