"RAILROAD ACCIDENT SUIT SETTLED ON BASIS OF $3,200 Watertown, Wis. "After two days spent in taking testimony before Judge George Grimm and a jury in the circuit court at Jefferson a settlement was reached in the action of August Saniter, this city, against the Milwaukee road. Mr. Saniter is to receive $3,200. The action is a result of an accident on the Milwaukee road tracks in December 1918, and which Edward Neurenberg lost his life and Mr. Saniter was badly injured. They were employees of the company going to work early in the morning. There was a blinding snow storm and a regular train, which was late, came upon them as they were walking the tracks."

"August Saniter Dies Here Today

Patient at Hospital Two Weeks; Rites to be Monday

August Saniter, 1408 Utah Street, died this morning at 7 o'clock in St. Mary's hospital, where he had been a patient the past two weeks.

A native of Germany, Mr. Saniter was born Aug. 22, 1865. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. August Saniter, Sr. He came to America at the age of 16, settling in Watertown, where he had since resided. In 1886 he was married to Wilhelmina Harning in St. John's Lutheran Church, in this city. She survives. Last month, Nov. 20 Mr. Saniter and his wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He was one of the oldest members of the Plattdeutscher Verein. For 58 years he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church.

Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Schroeder, this city; Mrs. Viola Thorson, Beloit; Mrs. Adela Juris, Madison; four sons, Frank, Guido, Walter and Gerhard, all of this city; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two children died in infancy. Mr. Saniter was the last member of his immediate family.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific railroad.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p. m. at Hafemeister's funeral home and at 2 p. m. at Immanuel church by Rev. O. H. Wonn officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery."
