- "Marriage banns were published 28 Aug 1761, Falmouth, ME, for him 'of Gorham T[own]' and his first wife Lois CREDIFORD 'of Falmouth'. She was born circa 1740, probably Falmouth, ME, and perhaps died before 1766, probably Falmouth, ME. She was also known as Lois CRADIFORD. There is no known record of her death, but her husband remarried in 1766. It is possible that Moses never married Lois CREDIFORD. Fornication charges have been extracted from the Cumberland Co. Commissioner's records. The following record appears: Lois CREDIFORD, Gorham, singlewoman, 1-13-1766, daughter."
