"SYLVESTER to Serve in Japan. BLOOMINGTON -- Pvt. Edwin L. SYLVESTER Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. SYLVESTER, of 10709 Linden Ave., will leave soon for 18 months' administration duty in Japan with the Army. A graduate of Colton Union High School in 1954, Pvt. SYLVESTER attended San Bernardino Valley College for one year prior to his induction in the Army in Aug. 1955. He completed his basic training in November at Fort Ord and has been attending the School of Administration, his parents said."
