"LORENZO MATHEWS. NORTH BRANCH -- Funeral services were held today in the Blackburn Funeral Home for Lorenzo MATHEWS, 73, who died in Lapeer County General Hospital, Tuesday, following a long illness. Rev. Samuel BOWMAN, lay minister of North Branch, officiated and burial was in the Imlay City Cemetery. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel MATHEWS; two sons, Howard and Layton MATHEWS, both of North Branch; four daughters, Sharon and Donna MATHEWS, both of North Branch, Mrs. Leonard CHAMBERS, Clifford, and Mrs. Barbara HOUSE, Lapeer; a brother, Orville, North Branch, and three grandchildren. He was born at Imlay City, July 4, 1888. In 1918, because of ill health, he was discharged from service in the U.S. Armed Forces. He married the former Mabel GRAHMAN Dec. 25, 1926."
