- Volume I Page 160: "Hope [CHIPMAN], born August 31, 1652, in Barnstable, married Aug. 10, 1670, John, son of Mr. Thomas HUCKINS of Barnstable, and had Elizabeth, 1 Oct. 1671; Mary, 3 April 1673; Experience, 4 June, 1675; and Hope, 10 May, 1677.
- Volume II Page 64: "John, 2d Aug. 1649." Parents were Thomas HUCKINS who had married the widow Rose HYLLIER (who had been married to Hugh HYLLIER), of Yarmouth after his first wife passed away circa 1648.
- Volume II Page 65: "John HUCKINS married 10th Aug. 1670", Hope, daughter of Elder John CHIPMAN. 'John HUCKINS died ye Nov. 1678, in ye 29th year of his age.' (Barnstable town records.) His widow married March 1, 1682-3, Jonathan COBB, and removed to Middleboro.
