"Gershom [COBB], born 10, bap'd 12th Jan'y 1644-5. He removed to Middleboro', where he was constable in 1671 and on the grand jury in 1674. He was buried at Swanzey 24th June, 1675, having, with eight others, been killed that day by the forces of Philip. His brother John administered the estate, which was divided in equal proportions to the children of Mr. Henry COBB of Barnstable, only John, the older son, to have a double portion."

"GERSHOM COBB, (Henry-1) b. Jan. 10, 1644-5. 5 June 1671, Gershom COBB elected constable for Middleborough. 3 June 1674, Gershom COBB on The Grand Enquest. He was killed by the indians and buried at Swanzey. Swanzey Register: Gershom COBB burried the 24th of June, 1675 (Plym. Col. Rec. VIII 61)"

"27 Oct. 1675. In reference vnto the dispose of the estate of Gershom COBB, late deceased, the Court have ordered, that John COBB, his brother, shall adminnester on the said estate, and when all debts due from the same are fully paid, the said John COBB being the eldest brother of said Gershom COBB, shall haue a doubble portion of the said estate, and then the remainder is to be deuided amongst the rest of Mr Henery COBBs children, brothers and sisters of the said John and Gershom COBB, in equall and alike proportions."
