Carolina"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I don&#8217;t have a particularly remarkable entry planned for today. However, I do have an observation. A huge chunk of the state of South Carolina extends further north than places in North Carolina. So that seems to contradict with the name <em>South<\/em> Carolina. Doesn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=10KGT9sKMliJci9GChJ2zCqBDzc8\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The entire shaded area of South Carolina rests at latitudes further north than the southernmost tip of North Carolina where the two states share a common border termination at the Atlantic Ocean. That includes about half the state, and major cities like Columbia and Greenville!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/96225726@N08\/8914986141\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/5332\/8914986141_d072eee920_b.jpg\" alt=\"Fountain in Charleston. So I suppose the names of the two states actually could be appropriate after all.
