Did any Alaskan readers of Twelve Mile Circle watch the NBC Nightly News this evening? When did your state capital become Juno? I happened to be sort-of watching it in the background as I was working on an article I’ll post tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story centered on a Next Generation air traffic control system using satellite navigation systems and GPS avionics. The government is rolling it out initially to a small number of sites. That includes, if you believe the graphic:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juno, Alaska!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you not familiar with the town — I’m thinking perhaps some of the international audience — it is most assuredly Juneau, Alaska. I’ve even been there myself a couple of times<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess that they probably don’t have a large staff on-hand for fact checking on Christmas. Either that or someone who had to work today decided to have a little fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I’m also pretty sure they weren’t referencing the Juno in Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
