I travel fairly frequently anyway for work and for pleasure, but this has been a particularly busy period. Here&#8217;s a recap of places I&#8217;ve visited since the Spring, as told through previous Twelve Mile Circle dispatches. If you&#8217;ve recently started reading Twelve Mile Circle or if you&#8217;ve missed a few entries, maybe this will help you discover some posts you might not have seen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Brief List<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/96225726@N08\/8914987869\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7346\/8914987869_1af3dda19a_b.jpg\" alt=\"Charleston, South Carolina. Photo by Photo by howderfamily.com; (CC BY-NC-SA 2.0)\"\/><\/a><figcaption>A cobblestone alley in Charleston, South Carolina<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I documented the eastern terminus of <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=55\">The Transpeninsular Line<\/a> that marks the southern border between Delaware and Maryland.<\/li><li>I then spent time in New Orleans, Louisiana and nearby Southern Mississippi where I rode on <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=73\">Lake Pontchartrain Bridges<\/a>. Upon my return I found electronic evidence of my journeys in <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=75\">Tracking my Travels<\/a>.<\/li><li>In Orange County, California I used <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=76\">Automatic Geolocation on a BlackBerry<\/a> to find my way around, and shared <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=77\">My Favorite Travel Tip <\/a>.<\/li><li>As the summer began and as rivers in the Upper Midwest swelled, I witnessed <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=96\">Wisconsin Floods<\/a> and noticed that <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=98\">Lake Delton [was] Gone<\/a>. Later I stopped by <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=99\">The Point of Beginning<\/a>, the basis for all land surveys in the state.<\/li><li>In July I had the unfortunate timing of being in Phoenix, an otherwise lovely location but perhaps not so during the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=129\">Arizona Monsoon<\/a>. On top of it, this was <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=145\">The Hottest I\u2019ve Ever Been in my Life<\/a>.<\/li><li>Along West Virginia&#8217;s eastern panhandle I learned about the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=192\">The First Steamboat?<\/a>, then crossed into adjoining Maryland territory to walk among <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=203\">Antietam Topography<\/a> of this famous battlefield.<\/li><li>On to Dallas, Texas, I stopped by the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=220\">The Grassy Knoll<\/a>, the source of so many Kennedy Assassination conspiracy theories.<\/li><li>And I&#8217;ve now just returned from Charleston, South Carolina where I provided readers with a <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=338\">Charleston Preview<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m sure I have more traveling on the horizon, so I look forward to further dispatches from the road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It seems I&#8217;ve done a lot of traveling as I look back across the last several months.
