Coincidentally the <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattlemaritime101.com\/seattle-maritime-festival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seattle Maritime Festival<\/a> was held that weekend and there were many activities to keep us busy. We started our tour by taking a ride around the harbor in a sightseeing boat, glimpsing skyscrapers towards the east and snow-capped mountains on the Olympic Peninsula to the west.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/zymurgy\/pike.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/graphics\/zymurgy\/pike-3.jpg\" alt=\"Pike Pub and brewery\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Pike Brewing Co. in Seattle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Military vessels displayed festive banners and sailors stationed themselves along the decks, dressed suitably for the occasion. Tugboats raced across the harbor and a fireboat shot water cannons into the air in celebration. Later we walked through Pioneer Square (<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/LAVTva5EWfcVbVio7\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">map<\/a>) and the public market.
