I already provided a preview of some of these on the Twelve Mile Circle (this blog). In addition, you can expect more detailed write-ups to start appearing on the permanent site over the next few days and weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oddities that I Collected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I spent much of the week dodging <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=96\">flooded roads<\/a> in the south central part of the state including Jefferson &amp; Dodge Counties, and visiting the remnants of <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=98\">Lake Delton<\/a> in Sauk County.<\/li><li>Unfortunately I didn&#8217;t get an opportunity to ride either the Merrimac Ferry or the Cassville Ferry as originally planned. Neither ferry could operate due to the flooding. So I have nothing to add to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/travel\/united_states_ferry_map.html\">United States Ferry Map<\/a>. However the flood coverage was much more compelling and I&#8217;ll always get another chance to ride those ferries. [<em>UPDATE: I rode the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=21751\">Cassville Ferry<\/a> in 2009<\/em>].<\/li><li>I toured two breweries that I&#8217;d never visited before. I also returned to two I&#8217;d visited previously but I took lots of photos this time. So I updated the <a href=\"\/blog\/brewery-list\/\">Breweries &amp; Brewpubs page<\/a> accordingly.<\/li><li>I made it to five new counties, four in Wisconsin and one in Illinois, and I&#8217;m still closing-in on 1000. Maybe I&#8217;ll get there someday, but until then you can continue to track my progress on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/travel\/counties\/united-states-county-map.html\">United States Counties page<\/a>.<\/li><li>I managed to sneak in a viewing of a Lake Michigan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/travel\/lighthouse.html\">lighthouse<\/a>.<\/li><li>Finally, I can&#8217;t forget my memorable trip to the <a href=\"\/blog\/?p=99\">Point of Beginning<\/a>. Of course, I didn&#8217;t realize until after I got home that I was only a few miles away from the Illinois Highpoint. Guess I&#8217;ll have to go back.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, this was a very productive and entertaining trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Final Word<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howderfamily.com\/graphics\/blog\/wisconsin_watertown_flood.jpg\" alt=\"2008 flood in Watertown, Wisconsin. Watertown was living up to its name when the Rock River came up well above flood stage. That&#8217;s your reward for putting up with this post.
