I have visited Weeping Radish Farm Brewery,
in Grandy, Currituck County, North Carolina, USA.

Reason for Visit: We spent a long wintertime weekend on the Outer Banks, purposely choosing to go there while the tourist crowds were small.

Glassware: The breweriana collected at Weeping Radish was a logo sampler glass. It's a simple blue ink on clear glass, featuring a German-style steeple with a Weeping Radish scroll rolled across it. The glass includes a quote attributed to Oscar Wilde, "Work is the curse of the drinking class." Interestingly, it lists their location as "Outer Banks, NC" which, technically it is not. Weeping Radish is located on the mainland. Still, just about anyone driving to or from the Outer Banks will drive directly past Weeping Radish so that's their target. |

Sampler: We put the samplers to great use. Check out this nice serving board they use to bring the sampler to the table. It fits nicely in front of a laminated description sheet to ease identification. |

Roadway Sign: It's easy to find Weeping Radish directly along Caratoke Highway. The sign is large and tells it like it is. |

Exterior: The external wall of Weeping Radish is trompe l'oeil, "fool the eye" painted to look like a farm scene complete with barn, tractor, market, people and scenery. Everything on this building except the door at the very center is painted. Even the loft door at the top of the image with the kegs in it is a painting. The picnic tables on the left are real. Also there is a kids playground just to the right (you can see the very tip of the slide in this image). It's a kid friendly space that's fenced-in and protected from the road. |

Interior: The bar is cozy and inviting. There weren't a lot of people on this winter weekend. I imagine that's probably quite a different story from Memorial Day to Labor Day when the beach travelers are streaming through. |
