    Status: The Old Dominion Brewing Company was purchased by Coastal Brewing, a partnership between Fordham Brewing and Anheuser-Busch, in early 2007. The Dominion brand name will live on, but the Ashburn facility was closed and production moved to Coastal's Delaware facility. It seems odd that a brand dubbed "Old Dominion" will now be produced outside of Virginia, but it appears that there was little choice given the economics of the situation.

    Reason for Visit: I would go there whenever I was in the area. Their summer beer festival, held annually for a good ten years, will undoubtedly bring fond memories to those who were lucky enough to go along for the ride.

    [Old Dominion Brewing Co. Pilsner Glass] Glassware: This Old Dominion Brewing Co. pilsner glass features multiple colors printed on clear glass. The image, which is circular in nature, is the brewery's logo. A horizontally-oriented oval containing the silhouette of a buck with antlers is the central image. Barley stalks in a fan patter form left and right framing borders. A ribbon running under the oval denotes "purity" and "freshness" along with the date of establishment. The entire image is encircled by a wide border band containing the name of the brewery.
    [Old Dominion Brewing Co. Sampler Glass] Glassware:Old Dominion holds a beer festival every summer on the field next to the brewery. This glass was from their 10th festival, in 2006. The possibility of future festivals is in doubt due to bulldozing of the field to make way for more buildings in the industrial park, and by the sale of the brewery in early 2007.
