I have visited Homer Brewing Company,
in Homer, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, USA.

Reason for Visit: We were in Alaska on vacation for a couple of weeks, spending most of our time on the Kenai Peninsula. There are a surprising number of breweries and brewpubs on this rather compact peninsula (relatively speaking -- compared to the rest of Alaska) and I think we hit all of them during our wanderings. Homer Brewing is on a side street but still quite close to both the airport and the Homer Spit.

Exterior: You'll know you've arrived because the brewery has a large sign above the entrance. The left portion has their logo, a diamond shape with a starry sky over snowcapped mountains. The name of the brewery is emblazoned across the logo, including a text ribbon. The right side of the sign contains the brewery slogan, "Fresh Traditional Country Ales To Go", ringed by artistic hop vines. |

Interior: This is a fairly small operation, with the brewery equipment right out on the display floor. You can watch the brewers at work while shopping for all manner of Homer Brewery merchandise. |

Growler: Homer Brewery has something I haven't seen very often: single serve growlers! At 20 ounces it's not much different than a bottle, but it's not bottled (and capped) like one would normally expect. No, it's filled like a growler with a screw on cap and thus needs to be consumed within a day or two. Homer Brewery had a couple of picnic tables in their side yard so we enjoyed our mini-growler in the sunshine of a beautiful summer afternoon. |

Sampler: We got this little sampler glass, too. It's a bit difficult to see but the Homer Brewing logo is acid-etched into the glass. |

Apparel: Finally, we also got a T-shirt, which features the now familiar logo. |
