I have visited Brown's Brewing Co.,
in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York, USA.

Brewery/Brewpub Location Map

Reason for Visit: We'd embarked on a long weekend trip to New England while the autumn leaves were changing colors. Troy, New York was a convenient stopping point for lunch as we headed towards Vermont and New Hampshire.

Brown's Brewing Company Exterior: Brown's Brewing Co. was a bit of an urban pioneer in this section of Troy. The owners converted an old warehouse on a neglected street into a profitable brewery. The Salvation Army has what looks like a residential facility for people that are down on their luck directly across the street. Much of the rest of River Street looks as if it's gentrified and Brown's is a major player in that trend. We found a parking spot right in front of the brewpub at the height of lunch hour by total luck, and walked right in.
Inside the Brown's Brewing Co. Interior: The interior was roomy and we got a booth near the front windows for some great people-watching opportunities. There was a decent crowd but not overwhelming, although I can imagine that if they drew this many people at lunchtime they'd probably do even better in the evenings.
Brown's Brewing Co. Sampler Sampler: The ambiance was fine but of course we were there for the beer and we started with samplers. They also sell their bottled beer here so we made sure to select a couple of six-packs to enjoy later on our journey.
