Theodore Mathews is the son of Nathaniel and Barbara Mathews. He is 19 years old, a laborer, and born in Michigan.

Theodore Mathews, Co's. K & H, 16th Michigan Infantry (Union). Rank In = Private, Rank Out = Private. Film Number M545 roll 26. The unit served in many famous engagements including Bull Run, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Petersburg and Appomattox Court House. The unit was participating in the siege of Petersburg at the time Theodore Mathews was wounded.
