Eugene Sylvester is the son of Charles and Charlotte Sylvester. He was born in Minnesota and is 2 years old.

(2) LDS FamilySearch 1880 United States Census database for Fieldon, Wantonwan Co., MN. Family History Library Film 1254637, NA Film Number T9-0637, Page 401A.

The Charles and Charlotte Sylvester family had moved to Wantonwan Co., MN by 1880. Eugene Sylvester is included as their 12-year-old son. His birthplace is listed as Minnesota and he is "at home." The record designates his middle initial as "H" which is in error.

(3) 1910 United States Census. Justice Precinct (part of), Houston City (part of), Harris Co., TX. Enumeration district 60, volume 67, roll 1560, sheet 160. April 22, 1910.

- E. M. Sylvester listed as head of household; white male, 41 years old, married 19 years, born Minnesota (with Maine written in small letters above it); father born in Minnesota (NOTE: probably in error); mother born in Pennsylvania. Speaks English. A railroad switchman, able to read and write.

(4) 1930 United States Census for Texas, Harris Co., Houston City ward 2 block 3493 (part of Justice Precinct 1): Roll T626-2341; Enumeration District 1; Sheet 36A; April 11, 1930.

Eugene M. Sylvester is head of household, and is a widower. Other residents include his son Walter E., daughter-in-law Rosella L., and grandson David W.

- Home ownership: yes; value $4,000.
- Radio ownership: no.
- Age: 61 years old at time of census; 21 when first married.
- Birthplace: Minnesota, with both of his parents listed as being born in the United States.
- Occupation: None.

(5) Certificate of Vital Record, State of Texas, San Antonio Metropolitan Area Health District, Standard Certificate of Death. March 31, 1936.

- Passed away March 29, 1936 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX, of apoplexy, with hypertension a contributory cause.
- Birth date listed as April 28, 1868 [NOTE: Tombstone lists April 28, 1869]; birthplace Minnesota, son of Charles Sylvester.
- Was a switchman on the Southern Pacific railroad lines at Houston, TX.
- Resided at 632 Canton St., San Antonio at the time of his passing, the same address listed for Florence S. Jones (his daughter), the informant for the certificate. He had lived in San Antonio for 4 years.
- Remains removed to Houston, TX on March 30, 1936.
