During his enlistment the unit served at the Battle of the Wilderness, Yellow Tavern and Haw's Shop, where Mr. STAFFORD was killed on May 28, 1864 (note: actually he was shot through the lung and died a month later from his wounds in a hospital in Washington, DC).
