(2) 1860 United States Census for Texas, Panola Co., Woods Post Office, Beat No. 4: Page 106; August 18, 1860. [James Henry] Lauriston Hull is the son of Edwin S. and Sarah A. Hull. He is 17 years old and born in North Carolina. (3) Texas Confederate Widow Pension #19190 "The records show that J. H. L. Hull, 4th sergeant, Company F. 10th Texas Cavalry, Confederate States Army, enlisted October 31, 1861, and that he was surrendered May 26, 1865, at New Orleans. During his period of enlistment the unit served as cavalry mainly in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. The unit was later dismounted after crossing the Mississippi River, and fought in Richmond, Tennessee and in defense of Atlanta, and finally Mobile.
